Scope and content

This framed picture was compiled and presented to the RMCM by Leonard F. Behrens, Vice-Chairman of the College in May, 1967. It consists of drawings of pigs done by musicians, at various dates in the early 20th cent; they were apparently asked to do so with their eyes shut by a little boy. The following musicians' drawings are included: Joseph Joachim (1831-1907); Karol Halir (1859-1909); Emanuel Wirth (1842-1923); Robert Hausmann (1852-1909); Adolf Brodsky (1851-1929); Anna Brodsky (1853-1929); Marie Fillunger (1850-1930); Nina Grieg (1845-1935); Hans Richter (1843-1916); Leonard Borwick (1868-1925); Willy Hess (1859-1939); and Donald Tovey (1875-1940). The pictures have all been autographed by their creators. Some have dated their drawings; the dates range from 1903-1910.
