Item AB/585 - Autograph letter signed from Edvard Grieg to Adolph Brodsky

Grieg is suffering from influenza but hopes rather than expects to be better in a few days. Grieg confirms that the concert in Manchester will be on the 16th. He will stay at an hotel on the 16th but will remain to hear the quartet on the 17th. He will accept the Brodskys' kind invitation to stay and then must return to London for rehearsals and other vexatious matters on the 18th. Grieg would like to see Busoni again. He played Grieg's piano concerto beautifully in Vienna last winter and Grieg deeply regrets that he cannot have him as soloist in England. Dated 26 Oct 1897.
